I see many people who are based outside London and abroad or who have mobility issues, and as such, I can offer treatment online.

Emotional and Psychological Wellbeing and Management of Physical Health

I am a Clinical Psychologist offering treatment to alleviate emotional, psychological, and physical suffering. I draw upon a range of models and techniques to provide effective and timely improvement or resolution to client problems.

These might include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) as well as other techniques.

Typical problems I treat are Depression, Anxiety difficulties,OCD, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder), perfectionism, low self-esteem, worry, sleep, and self-criticism.

I also offer treatments for physical problems and Long-Term Health Conditions, including Sleep, Pain, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Medically Unexplained Symptoms, and Hypermobility Disorder (Ehlers-Danlos).

With over 11 years of clinical experience,  as well as a range of emotional problems such as anxiety and depression, I have a specialist interest in working with trauma, chronic pain and physical health issues.

Dr. Chad Shepherd (BSc Hons. DClinPsy)

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist who has worked within Clinical Psychology services for over eleven years.

I have a first-class undergraduate honours degree in Psychology from London South Bank University. I completed a three-year Doctorate training in Clinical Psychology at UCL (University College London), undertaking clinical work, academic study, and research.

What to Expect

Following our initial contact, you can book a one-hour face-to-face or online assessment. I will then provide an assessment letter summarising what we discussed and recommending treatment options based on the difficulties that need to be addressed. The number of recommended sessions varies considerably depending on the issues that need to be addressed.

I have presented at many conferences and delivered workshops, both nationally and internationally, about psychological well-being, and managing long-term health conditions (including chronic pain and trauma). Countries include the USA, Italy, and Scotland, as well as the UK. I have a forthcoming chapter in a book about to be published about PTSD and long-term health conditions.
